Frequently asked questions

What can working with a Registered Dietitian do for me?

A dietitian from The Healthie Code can tailor nutrition strategies to optimize your health, manage conditions, and achieve personal wellness goals.

Is there a difference between a nutritionist and Registered Dietitian Nutritionist?

There is a significant difference between nutritionists and Registered Dietitian Nutritionists (RDN). If you're seeking help to improve your health or alter your eating habits, ensure that you work with a trained nutrition expert licensed to practice in your state.  Nutritionists hold no licencure, require no continued education, and anyone can call themselves a nutritionist. Working with a dietitian ensures you receive the best professional nutrition advice tailored to your needs, distinguishing them from those who are not licensed or specialize in professional nutrition services.

What qualifications do the consultants at The Healthie Code have?

Our consultants have extensive experience in dietary planning and nutritional counseling, dedicated to helping you achieve optimal health. Dietitians are licensed professionals who have gone through extensive training in this complex world of nutrition information. We are here to simplify it for you!

How do I know if my insurance covers nutrition services?

Most insurance plans cover nutritional services provided by an RDN with most patients having to pay $0, which is a beneficial aspect when considering affordable dietitian services in East TX.

To determine if your insurance plan includes coverage for nutrition counseling, contact the member services number listed on the back of your insurance card. Be sure to ask the representative the following questions:

  1. Does my current insurance policy cover nutrition counseling?
  2. Is my diagnosis eligible for coverage? (You can obtain this diagnosis from your doctor.)
  3. How many visits are covered each calendar year?
  4. Are there any co-pays or deductibles for nutrition counseling?

What if I don't have insurance?

Many insurance plans cover Medical Nutrition Therapy (MNT) provided by an RDN, which is a beneficial aspect when considering affordable dietitian services in East TX.  However, if you don't have insurance, the cost per session ranges anywhere from $20-$120 depending on type of appointment. Check out our cash-pay plans on our Services page!

What is your primary population you serve?
